Enhancing DIRECTV Engagement: Redesigning Monthly Communication

As the Creative Director overseeing customer communication initiatives, I undertook the task of redesigning the DIRECTV monthly newsletter, a crucial direct mail piece accompanying customers’ monthly bills. This newsletter served to highlight featured content, upcoming pay-per-view events, set-top box tips & tricks, and a calendar of premieres, shows, and events.
Challenge

Improving Engagement Through Traditional and Digital Channels

The challenge was to revamp the monthly newsletter to enhance consumer engagement amidst the clutter of bill-related communications. Additionally, we needed to ensure seamless integration with digital channels, providing a mobile-accessible version for customers on-the-go. Balancing the need for informative content with visually appealing design was key to overcoming this challenge.

Our goal was to streamline communication and create a cohesive experience for DIRECTV customers across various touchpoints. By redesigning the monthly newsletter and accompanying digital versions, along with additional communications such as quick start guides and tips & tricks remote guides, we aimed to provide valuable information in a visually engaging format, ultimately enhancing consumer experience and engagement.

The result was a suite of communication tools, including the redesigned monthly newsletter, digital versions for mobile access, and complementary guides and line-ups, working together seamlessly to enhance consumer engagement. The revamped communication strategy not only provided valuable content to customers but also improved brand perception and loyalty. By delivering informative and visually appealing materials, we successfully strengthened the relationship between DIRECTV and its customers, driving increased engagement and satisfaction.
